TILLAMOOK, OREGON
The
city of Tillamook, Oregon was incorporated in 1891. It is in the
north-western part of the state close to the ocean. It is named after
the Tillamook people a Native American tribe that lived in the area
until the early 19th century. The city's population was
estimated in 2012 to be about 4,942. The city is governed by a mayor.
An
important part of the community is the Tillamook County Creamery
Association. The major employers are the farmers. An major draw to
the community is the Tillamook Cheese Factory which offers tours and
samples.
